The rosters are set for the American League Wild Card Series rematch between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.
On the Yankees’ side, the most noteworthy takeaways are the absence of Aaron Judge and the inclusion of fellow slugger Giancarlo Stanton. Both are dealing with calf injuries, and Stanton hasn’t played in a big-league game since April 24.
Both rotations were announced on Monday. The Red Sox will roll with Payton Tolle in Game 1, followed by Sonny Gray and Ranger Suarez in Games 2 and 3. The Yankees will counter with Cam Schlitter, Max Fried, and then Gerrit Cole if necessary.
