The New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings are reportedly finalizing a trade.

Per ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter, Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Harrison Phillips is headed to Gang Green.

“ESPN sources: Vikings are trading DT Harrison Phillips and a 2027 7th-round pick to the New York Jets in exchange for a 2026 6th-round pick and a 2027 6th-round pick, pending Phillips’ physical,” Schefter posted on X. “Phillips now joins Jowon Briggs as the second DT that the Jets traded for Wednesday.”

“Harrison Phillips now returns to the AFC East, where he played for the Buffalo Bills from 2018-‘21,” Schefter added.

Phillips, 29, was selected with the No. 96 overall pick out of Stanford in the 2018 NFL draft by the Bills. He’s tallied 314 total tackles, eight sacks and 10 pass deflections over his seven-year career thus far.

Phillips has displayed impressive durability during his career, with the exception of a torn ACL he suffered in Week 3 of his second season with the Bills.

After his rookie contract with Buffalo expired, Phillips signed a three-year, $19.5 million deal with the Vikings. He had a career year in 2023 for Minnesota, tallying 92 tackles and three sacks. The dominant campaign earned Phillips a two-year extension that runs through the 2026 season.

Phillips started in every single regular-season game for Minnesota during his three-year tenure with the team.

Meanwhile, Jets general manager Darren Mougey isn’t messing around as he keeps looking to make additions to improve New York’s defense. Gang Green is entering 2025 under new head coach Aaron Glenn with optimism, hoping to reverse the narrative around the team that has persisted during a 14-year playoff drought.
