The Patriots suffered a defeat against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and former New England wide receiver Julian Edelman believes the Patriots have some ground to cover before reaching their full potential.

“I view it as there not there yet,” Edelman said Wednesday on “The Herd”. “Something we used to hear all the time can’t win until you keep from losing, and the second half was an example of that.”

The Patriots held a solid 24-7 lead over the Bills at halftime. However, Buffalo responded strongly, scoring 28 points in the second half while limiting New England to seven.

Buffalo is guided by seasoned quarterback Josh Allen, who has an impressive eight years of experience under his belt and knows how to come through in high-stakes games. At the same time, the Patriots’ young quarterback, Drake Maye is still learning how to win at the NFL level.

New England has plenty of time to grow and secure significant victories in the future. Still, the matchup against Buffalo looked like a young Patriots team trying to navigate a challenging NFL opponent.
