The New England Patriots will be without their No. 2 running back for the foreseeable future.

TreVeyon Henderson went down with an ankle injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s 45-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. On Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Henderson suffered a high-ankle sprain and is “expected to miss multiple weeks.”

“Henderson will not need surgery, and he is regarded as a quick healer, so the Patriots are hoping his return is sooner rather than later,” Schefter added.

Rhamondre Stevenson and Corey Kiner are currently the only two running backs on the Patriots’ active roster. Lan Larison is the lone RB on the practice squad.

Henderson had four carries for 22 yards and one catch for 16 yards before his injury. In four games this season, the 23-year-old has 163 yards and a touchdown on 42 carries.

The Patriots could look to add depth at the running back position before Sunday’s game vs. the New York Jets. Injuries have already tested their depth at several positions through the first five weeks of the 2026 season.
