The Boston Red Sox fell in the season finale of their series against the Houston Astros on Wednesday night after a strong outing by Astros starting pitcher Hunter Brown. Brown retired four batters over 6.2 innings, allowing only a single run in the 4-1 final.

Ceddanne Rafaela batted in the sole run for the Red Sox with a single that sent Trevor Story home. Manager Alex Cora was ejected from the game in the seventh inning by the home plate umpire.
