Masataka Yoshida is back in Boston.

The Red Sox on Wednesday reinstated Yoshida from the 60-day injured list, an anticipated move given recent comments from manager Alex Cora. Yoshida hasn’t played for Boston this season due to a shoulder injury, but played five games during rehab assignments in Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester.

Yoshida is expected to be in the lineup against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night.

The Red Sox optioned utility man Nate Eaton to Triple-A Worcester in a corresponding move, as first reported by MassLive’s Chris Cotillo on Tuesday night. Boston also transferred right-handed pitcher Nick Burdi to the 60-day injured list.

Yoshida hit .285 with a .775 OPS during his first two seasons with the Red Sox.
