As expected, Roman Anthony will sit out tonight’s game against the Kansas City Royals.
The Red Sox rookie is out of the lineup for the second straight game after experiencing mid back tightness just prior to first pitch on Monday. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said following the game he would stay away from Anthony on Tuesday but expects the talented youngster to be good to go by Wednesday’s series finale.
Wilyer Abreu will once again start at right field in his place.
With a right-hander on the mound for Kansas City, Masataka Yoshida is set to return to the lineup after sitting against three straight lefties. Yoshida will start in left field, and Ceddanne Rafaela will come off the bench, with Jarren Duran starting in center field and David Hamilton at second base.
Garrett Crochet (12-4, 2.23) is set to take the mound for the Red Sox against Kansas City’s Ryan Bergert (1-0, 2.78) as Boston goes for its seventh straight win.
