Seven questions to take you out of November and into what will almost certainly be a very interesting December for the Red Sox. 1. Namely, sacrificing lefty relievers Brennan Bernardino and Chris Murphy by trading them to the Colorado Rockies and Chicago White Sox, respectively. Murphy’s trade at least made some sense. In Chicago, he joins…

The Boston Red Sox traded for Garrett Crochet last offseason, and Craig Breslow recently said the team would consider adding another pitcher to their deep rotation if they could land a frontline arm. One of the best pitchers available this offseason is Japanese phenom Tatsuya Imai. Imai was a star in Japan, and many fans may be expecting him to follow in the footsteps of Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Rōki Sasaki and join the Los Angeles Dodgers after being posted. However, Imai recently told Daisuke Matsuzaka on the show, “Hodo Station,” that he does not want to join his countrymen. “Of course,…

It might feel like hyperbole to suggest Neemias Queta is the most irreplaceable player on the Boston Celtics roster given what Jaylen Brown is doing on a nightly basis. But for a team lacking pure size in an overhauled frontcourt, it sometimes feels like a healthy Queta is vital to Boston’s overall success. The numbers through the first 17 games of the 2025-26 season seem to confirm as much.  Queta owns the best net rating on the team, with the Celtics outscoring opponents by 16.8 points per 100 possessions in his 396 minutes of court time. Perhaps more noteworthy: Boston…

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Every coach in the NFL talks about how hard it is to win games.Mike Vrabel hopes the New England Patriots’ 26-20 comeback victory over the struggling Cincinnati Bengals was a reminder to his team that even after becoming the NFL’s first team to 10 wins this season, it will need to bring its best every week to keep stacking victories.“I think that they found a way to win,” Vrabel said. “We’ll have to kind of keep that fine balance of understanding that wins are important, but improving at this time of the year is what’s most important.”That is…

Former New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has been enjoying a solid season as the backup for the San Francisco 49ers, with Brock Purdy dealing with a toe injury. Jones has appeared in nine games, starting eight, throwing for 2,151 yards and 13 touchdowns. The 49ers signed Jones to a two-year, $8.4 million contract this offseason, and with one season remaining, San Francisco could put Jones up for a trade. In a recent USA Today article, Jacob Camenker highlighted potential teams that could trade for Jones, including the Miami Dolphins. “The Dolphins can’t move off Tua Tagovailoa’s contract without eating a dead-cap hit…
