Payton Pritchard won’t be backing down from the challenge ahead. The reigning Sixth Man of the Year saw a handful of his championship-winning teammates leave town this offseason. Jrue Holiday was shipped to the Trail Blazers, Kristaps Porzingis is now on the Hawks, Luke Kornet signed with the Spurs and Al Horford remains unsigned, so the Celtics will look a lot different this fall. As everyone said, the momentum from the trade deadline would carry the Red Sox over the Houston Astros. The Red Sox took 2-3 from the Kansas City Royals when they visited KC and are looking to do the same now against a Royals team that has struggled since May. Lefthander Bailey Falter will be making his Royals debut having been acquired at the deadline from the Pittsburgh Pirates. He’s struck out just 70 in 113 innings with 39 walks. This is, simply, an odd profile for a starter in 2025. While not really a measure of much these days, Falter…

By Matthew Adams, Fort Worth Star-Telegram There’s a lot that goes into making Nokona baseball gloves stand out in the crowded sporting goods marketplace, but the thing that makes them most unique is the little tag on each one that says “Made in America.” Being the last U.S.-made baseball glove company left standing is a nice claim to fame, though it does come with challenges at a time when every other glove maker is manufacturing overseas for a fraction of the cost. Still, after some tough times in decades past, Nokona’s business is strong as the company prepares to celebrate…
