NEW YORK – Saturday is Garrett Crochet Day at Yankee Stadium.

The Red Sox ace will make his third start against the Yankees this season (and of his career) in the 1:05 p.m. ET contest.

Crochet’s first career game against the Yankees was in their house on June 7. He yielded five earned runs in an unusual six-inning start, but took home the win anyway as Boston triumphed 10-7.

When the Yankees came to Fenway the following weekend, Crochet was ready for a rematch. He held them to a solo homer and just three additional hits in an 8.1-inning gem that was his deepest start of the season at that point and remains the second-longest start this year.

Will Warren will face a Boston lineup that has found ways to win despite their ongoing struggles to capitalize when they have men on base. Despite allowing four earned runs over 5.1 innings at Fenway on June 6, the 26-year-old righty was the winning pitcher in the Yankees’ lone victory against their rivals (the Red Sox are 7-1 in the season series).

Boston took the first two games of this weekend’s quartet, and snatched the season series with a 1-0 victory Friday. Should the Red Sox and Yankees finish the regular-season with identical records, the tiebreaker would go to the former, for postseason seeding.

Roman Anthony is also back in the outfield after a last-minute defensive alignment switch last night. He was feeling under the weather with a light cold, and manager Alex Cora opted to move him to the designated hitter role for the game.
