Boston Bruins star forward David Pastrnak has plenty of confidence in the team.

The Bruins ended 2025 with a 6-2 road win over the Edmonton Oilers, as Boston is two points out of a playoff spot. Although the Bruins were on a six-game losing skid entering the game, Pastrnak called this group “special” and believes Boston can have a lot of success.

“We have an amazing group of guys in the room,” Pastrnak said on Wednesday, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “It’s only been half a season, but we’ve been through so much. We’re there for each other every night, no matter if we are losing or winning.

“That’s all you can ask. You don’t take it for granted. You don’t get special groups every year. We just have to build and become even tighter.”

In the win, Pastrnak had two goals and an assist and was named the second star of the game.

Pastrnak isn’t the only Bruins player who believes in this group, as goalie Jeremy Swayman believes this is a win the team can build off of.

“I think we can take a lot out of this game and build a lot of confidence,” Swayman said. “We know what we can do in this league. And consistency is everything – I think we can take this and move forward and really build some momentum.”

The Bruins are 21-18-2 and remain firmly in the playoff contention. Boston will return to the ice on Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks on the road
