FOXBORO, MASS. (WHDH) – Gillette Stadium will not host the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Football Championships this season due to scheduling constraints with the New England Patriots and Revolution, according to the MIAA.
Gillette Stadium and the Kraft family have hosted the eight state championships for nearly two decades, but will have to take at least a one year break because of potential revolution playoff matches on December 2 and December 6. The Patriots also have a home game against the Buffalo Bills on December 6.
Due to winter sports schedules, the MIAA said it cannot hold the eight Super Bowls past the first week of December.
In a statement, the MIAA wrote in part, “We thank the Patriots organization for hosting this event for nearly two decades. Whereas the 2026 MIAA Football Tournament begins this week, we will work diligently to secure host sites that provide the best possible championbship experience for our student athletes and our school communities.”
Gillette Stadium had been the home of the MIAA high school Super Bowls since 2007.
It could host more games down the road; a spokesperson for the stadium said they look forward to hosting the events again in the future.
At this time, the MIAA has not announced where the tournaments will be played this season.
