FOXBORO — Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez was officially designated as “limited” in Thursday’s injury report.

Gonzalez (hamstring) was spotted departing the main practice field after stretching on Thursday.

His cornerbacks coach, Justin Hamilton, explained why Gonzalez left the field early during the portion of practice open to reporters.

“It’s kind of a warm-up, the early portion of practice, just to do more,” Hamilton said. “Because some of the stuff is special teams or things where it’s like jog-through walk-through, so it’s for him to be able to get to the pace he can go at to be able to go out there when we are in the speed periods of practice.”

Elsewhere, S Jaylinn Hawkins (hamstring), OLB Anfernee Jennings (ankle) and DE Keion White (elbow) were non-participants.

OLB K’Lavon Chaisson (knee), DT Joshua Farmer (ankle), LB Marte Mapu (hamstring/neck) and DT Milton Williams (ankle) were limited, and DT Christian Barmore (not injury related) and RG Mike Onwenu (shoulder/thigh) participated in practice fully.
