The Worcester Red Sox wrapped up their 2025 season on Sunday with a 9-8 win over the Rochester Red Wings. They also celebrated by giving out some hardware.

Not surprisingly, Jhostynxon Garcia received team MVP honors. The 22-year-old outfielder dominated in 81 games with Worcester after being promoted from Portland, batting .271/.334/.498 with 18 home runs, 12 doubles, 60 runs, 58 RBI and three stolen bases.

Garcia — the organization’s No. 3 prospect according to MLB Pipeline — even earned a cup of coffee with the Red Sox, appearing in five games for Boston in late August. He received just nine plate appearances, but still managed to notch his first Major League hit (a double) in his final game before being sent down.

Given his obvious talent and potential, look for Garcia to earn a bigger role with the 2026 Red Sox and potentially make the team out of spring training.

Meanwhile, on the mound, Cooper Criswell and Tyler Uberstine shared the Most Valuable Pitcher Award.

Criswell, 29, went 4-2 with a 3.70 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 65 2/3 innings for Worcester. The veteran hurler spent some time there last season as well and made seven appearances for the Red Sox this year (most recently on Aug. 1), going 1-0 with a 3.57 ERA in 17 2/3 innings.

Uberstine, 26, flourished after moving up from Portland, going 6-4 with a 3.56 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 91 innings. While he’s yet to appear in the Major Leagues, he could be ready to make his MLB debut next season.

With so much young talent already at the MLB level and more on the way, the future looks bright for Boston as the 2025 season winds down — especially if the team makes the postseason and goes far in October.
