The Boston Celtics fell to the San Antonio Spurs in Tuesday’s potential NBA Finals preview, 125-116.
It was an entertaining showdown between the two title contenders. The C’s led for much of the first half, but Jaylen Brown’s second-quarter ejection left them short-handed. Brown was thrown out for arguing with the officials, and he had to be restrained before leaving the court.
With Brown out, Derrick White and Jayson Tatum were forced to carry the load. They contributed 34 and 24 points, respectively, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with Victor Wembanyama & Co.
Wemby finished with a game-high 39 points and 11 rebounds. De’Aaron Fox chipped in 25 points to help San Antonio finish off a 2-0 season series sweep of Boston.
